Founded in 2018 in Long Beach, California, Safety First Management, LLC is a nationwide, innovative consulting firm committed to enhancing workplace safety and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Specializing in employee and management engagement, safety management systems, and OSHA compliance, we provide tailored solutions that not only ensure regulatory adherence but also significantly reduce and prevent workers' compensation costs.

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of safety and occupational health, Luis A. Ortiz stands as a leading authority in the industry. His extensive career spans corporate and plant-level environments across Fortune 500 companies, as well as small, medium, and large family-owned businesses. Luis's unique ability to adapt and apply safety management and engagement in diverse settings underscores his commitment to creating safer workplaces nationwide.
Luis's expertise is further recognized through his role as an esteemed instructor at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), one of only three institutions in California affiliated with the prestigious OSHA Training Education Centers, a network comprising just 26 centers across the United States.
As a General Industry and Construction Federal and California Authorized Outreach Instructor, Luis imparts crucial safety knowledge to the current and next generation of safety professionals.
Luis's academic credentials include both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Occupational Environmental Health and Safety, a foundation that supports his deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of workplace safety. His leadership and influence extend beyond education; as a key figure in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Long Beach Chapter, Luis played a pivotal role in achieving the Chapter’s Platinum status and driving a significant increase in membership.
